Trimdon Brass
Trimdon Brass is a friendly and progressive fourth section band based in Trimdon Station, around 15 minutes from the centre of Durham.
Trimdon Concert Brass began life and the Thornley Colliery Band in 1870 and were founder members of the Durham Brass Band League. The band relocated to Trimdon in the 1990s, moving the band closer to its player base and creating stronger links in the wider East Durham area.
The band are friendly and motivated, with a flexible approach to membership and playing ability with all interested players welcomed when they are available and always welcome to return after moving on from the band or area. However the band is committed to high attendance and standards of music making in the lead up to contests. Recent contest successes include Fourth Section Champions, North of England Area, 2013.
As a friendly local band the group are committed to retaining their links with the community and providing regular, high quality concerts. With a library of over 2000 pieces they can offer programmes to suit all occassions and love playing anything from hymns to marches, overtures and pop arrangements.
