Fishburn Band
The origin of Fishburn Band stems from the mining community of the small village of Fishburn near Sedgefield in the North East.
Fishburn band was established in the ealry 1950s with the desire to maintain 'colliery pride' and has, over the years, worked hard to rise through the ranks and become a Championship Section Brass Band. The band is very much aware of its responsibilities as one of the North's premier bands and continually strives to maintain its high profile both on and off stage.
A packed diary of contests and concerts keeps the band busy throughout the year both in County Durham and further afield.
The band enjoys the benefit of professional conductors for contests and recent directors have included Russel Gray, Richard Evans, Alan Morrison and Joe Cook.
